The Northeast Michigan Consortium is an eight county governmental organization with a service area of 5,200 square miles. Since its inception in 1974, it has evolved into a multi-purpose unit, offering services including job training, welfare reform, employment service (including America's Talent Bank/Job Bank automated resume system), TAA/NAFTA programs, assistance in securing federal and state procurement contracts and a variety of youth programs. Services are delivered through eight local county offices. The Consortium's activities are governed by two groups: an Administrative Board of Directors and a Workforce Development Board.
